Youngstock
Open to equines 3 years or under any breed or type. Judged on paces, condition and turnout according to age. Colts allowed but must be handled by a responsible handler 16 years or above.
Veteran in Hand
Open to any equine 16 years or over as of 1st January 2010. Judged on condition, paces and turnout.
In Hand Mare/Filly
Open to all Mares/fillies of any age, breed, height or type. Judged on Conformation, paces, correctness of type and condition.
In Hand Gelding/Colt/Stallion
Open to all geldings, colts, stallions of any breed, height, type or age. Stallions must be shown by a responsible adult at least 16years or over. Judged on conformation, paces, correctness of type and condition.
Mountain and Moorland In Hand Small/Large
Open to all pure mountain and moorland breeds. Judged on conformation, paces, correctness of breed characteristics and condition.
Coloured In Hand
Open to any equine piebald, skewbald. Any height or breed. Judged on quality of colour, conformation, paces and condition.
unusual coloured in hand
Open to any equine piebald, skewbald. Any height or breed. Judged on quality of colour, conformation, paces and condition.
Show hunter/hunter type.
Open to any equine of the above type. Must be shown true to type. Judged on conformation, paces, correctness of type and condtition.
Cob In Hand
Open to Cobs shown True ( trimmed and hogged) or Traditional in natural state. Judged on conformation, paces and correctness of type.
Foreign Breeds In Hand
Open to all non uk breeds born in or out of the UK arabs, fjord, freisian, lusitano, andalusian ect. Open age and height judged on correctness of type, condition and paces according to breed standards.
Class 11 Thoroughbred pure/part bred hack type
Open to thoroughbred type shown plaited. Judged on conformation, paces and correctness of type. Thoroughbred which have raced will not be penalised for blemish gained in the course of competition.
Class 12 Part Bred In hand
Open to any equine that is registered on the part bred register of a main studbook. Judged on conformation, paces and turnout.
Class 13 Bonny Pony/Handsome Horse
Open to any equines regardless of type. Not judged on conformation or paces just whether you are cute or handsome.
Class 14 Novice In Hand
hander must be 14years an over. Open to equines of any age, breed or type. Not to have won more than two first places and in the first season of showing. New combinations not eligible with the exception of novice handlers and experienced equines. Judged on the potential to be successful in the show ring, conformation, paces, correctness of type and condition.
Young Handler
Open to Handlers below 14 years old. Judged on ability to produce an equine to the judge and show good technique in doing so
Tack and Turnout
Open to riders any age, equines any height. Lead reins welcome. Judged on turnout appropriate to type, cleanliness and overall appearance. Can be shown plaited or natural. Any bridle.
Absolute Beginners Equitation
Open to riders just starting out in the show ring. Horse/pony any height or type.Judged on the riders potential to go on and compete in the open classes but showing a basic knowledge. Riders will be asked to walk only as a group then trot individually . An individual show is required but only necessary to show walk and trot on both reins. Cantering is optional and competitors will not be penalised for not showing this pace. Riders must be a true beginner and 14 years and under. Snaffle bridle only.
Lead Rein
Open to riders 9yrs and under. Ponies 12hh/122cm or under. Snaffle bridle only . Judged on the ponies ability to be a Lead Rein pony, riders ability to show basic position in walk and trot and over all combination. Lead Rein must be attached to the noseband. Riders competing in this class must remain on the lead rein for all other classes at this show throughout the season.
Equitation
senior and junior to ride in snaffle bridles and may be asked to ride without stirrups
Show Hunter/Hunter type ridden
Open to any equine of the above type. Must be shown true to type. Judged on conformation, paces, correctness of type and condtition.
Novice Ridden
Open to equines any height or type. Shown plaited or natural. In the first season of showing. Judged on conformation, paces, manners and turnout. Snaffle bridles only. Not open to new combinations with the exception of novice rider
First Ridden
Open to Riders 11yrs or under. Ponies to be 12.2hh or under. Snaffle bridle only.
Coloured True ridden

unusual coloured ridden

Judged on conformation, paces, correctness of type and turnout. Any bridle suitable for the rider. Small breed stallions must be shown by a rider over 16 yrs and large breed stallion by a rider over 16 yrs. Individual show is required.
